Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces ripe but firm bananas Choose bananas that are slightly yellow with a few spots.
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or melted butter Coconut oil adds a subtle fragrance; melted butter gives a rich flavor.
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar or coconut sugar This will caramelize slightly during cooking.
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon Gives the chips warm, aromatic qualities.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for even cooking.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the coconut oil (or melted butter), sugar, and ground cinnamon.
  • Slice the bananas thinly, about 1/8 inch thick, and toss them into the cinnamon-sugar mixture for even coating.
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • Arrange the coated banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Air fry the banana slices for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  • Once crispy, carefully remove the banana chips from the air fryer and let cool for a few minutes.

Notes

Serve the chips as a snack, in breakfast bowls, or as a topping on yogurt. Avoid using overly ripe bananas and ensure uniform slices for best texture.
