Dumpling Ingredients

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough Flaky and buttery, serves as the perfect wrap for apples.
  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced Choose your favorite variety.

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Creates a luscious sauce.
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar Adds deep sweetness.
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon Enhances flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 cup Mountain Dew soda (or lemon-lime soda) Creates a bubbly sauce.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate the dough into triangles.
  • At the wide end of each triangle, place a slice of apple and wrap the dough around it, sealing the edges securely.
  • Arrange the rolled dumplings snugly in the prepared baking dish.

Sauce Preparation

  • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until creamy.
  • Stir in the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth and bubbly.
  • Drizzle the mixture evenly over the arranged dumplings.
  • Pour the Mountain Dew soda around the edges of the dumplings.

Baking

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
  • Serve warm, drizzling some of the sweet sauce over the dumplings.

Notes

Pairs well with vanilla ice cream and can be served for family dinners or potlucks. Can be made ahead of time; just refrigerate before baking.
