Ganache Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup salted butter Melted to enhance the ganache
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder Adding an extra layer of chocolate
  • 1/2 box powdered sugar For sweetness and smoothness
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract For flavor depth
  • 3 tbsp milk To achieve the perfect ganache consistency
  • 1/2 cup pecan pieces For a delightful crunch

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine the Devil's Food cake mix and instant chocolate pudding mix. Whisk them together until thoroughly mixed.
  • Add the eggs, vanilla extract, vegetable oil, sour cream or buttermilk, and brewed coffee. Mix well until smooth.
  • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, checking for doneness at around the 30-minute mark.

Ganache Preparation

  • While the cake cools, melt the salted butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir in cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
  • Drizzle the ganache over the cooled cake and sprinkle pecans on top.
  • Allow to set for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, consider using dark chocolate chips or adding espresso powder for an enhanced coffee note. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
