Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk.
  • Fold in the caramel sauce gently.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, drizzle additional caramel sauce atop the cake.
